Aldgate Business Forum

When I was campaigning in 2012 I discovered that there was little mixing between the respective business silos within the Wards. Following some research with local businesses, I found that there was a big appetite for ‘cross pollination’ within the Ward and so I formed the Aldgate Business Forum to act as a vehicle to bring together businesses to discuss key issues and to help City-based businesses gain a greater understanding of the City of London and the role of the Corporation.

There have now been some 6 business forums, generously sponsored by The Baltic Exchange, Willis, Clyde & Co, Kennedys Law and JLT on topics as varied as:

• ‘The Baltic Exchange and City of London‘ with the CEO of the Baltic Exchange (Jan 2013);
• ‘Cyber in the City’ with MWR InfoSecurity (Sep 2014)
• ‘Britain in Europe – the German Perspective’ with HE the Ambassador of Germany (Nov 2015);
• ‘The British and Argentinian relationship’ with HE the Ambassador of Argentina;
• ‘The British Irish Relationship post Brexit’ with HE The Ambassador of Ireland (Jul 2017);
• ‘The British India Relationship post Brexit’ with HE The High Commissioner for India (May 2018);
